Each year’s Humanitarian Bowl serves a dual purpose: to showcase football powerhouses from the Western Athletic Conference and the Mid-American Conference, and to emphasize the uplifting effects positive leadership can have on furthering humanitarian efforts. This year’s bowl game sees the Fresno State Bulldogs (8-4) take on the Northern Illinois Huskies (10-3) at Bronco Stadium in a formidable match-up to determine which team can throw the farthest, hit the hardest, and ride the stadium’s eponymous mechanical bronco the longest. Fresno State ended their regular season with a victorious war cry over Illinois, 25-23, while Northern Illinois makes its third straight bowl appearance, and its sixth postseason game in the last seven seasons.
