Today's side deal will help you erase memories of awkward prom slow dances while you master moves for major occasions, such as pending nuptials, cruise-ship vacations, and Footloose-style community uprisings. For $225, you get five 45-minute, private ballroom dance classes at I Dance 2 Ballroom Dancesport Studio (a $475 value). I Dance 2 is open Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and during the day by appointment only. Call ahead or email to schedule classes, as your garage roof is not high enough for them to hear your shouting.
Co-owned by former professional Latin-dance competitors and Triple Crown Latin Dancesport Champions Raza Begg and Ia Iashvili, I Dance 2 was responsible for teaching Dancing with the Stars alum Emmitt Smith. As a premier ballroom dance studio in the Dallas metroplex area, I Dance 2 is also experienced in training people besides Hall of Fame football players, such as mothers and famous architects. The road to learning floor-shredding footwork begins with an introduction and orientation that serves as your first class. Next, schedule two 45-minute classes back to back for your next two sessions, providing two 1.5-hour superclasses. This is done in order to provide the student with the best opportunity to retain learned choreographies and steps during the build-up phase and to harness dance-fueled passion. You'll master fancy footwork and increase self-confidence, improve social skills, and release stress through I Dance 2’s expert-guided lessons.
Once you finish your quintet of classes, show off your sleek, sensual stepping skills at a wedding or a night out instead of staying at home getting freaked out on the couch and shooting paintballs at Shark Week.
There are no reviews for the Dallas location, but I Dance 2's Plano location gets a perfect five-star rating from three Yahoo! Locals:
I Dance 2 Ballroom Dancesport Studio
Since 1984, the studio’s experienced instructors have conveyed their ballroom skills to both beginner and seasoned students, including Dancing with the Stars’ Emmitt Smith. As the instructor team takes the reins during group and private classes, students learn the graceful moves and footwork for the cha cha, the waltz, salsa, swing, or other ballroom styles. The studio also offers a special wedding course that gets couples ready for their big days, enabling them to finally have a reason to be the center of attention at a wedding. Many of the studio’s dancers also train for national competitions, often under the leadership of studio director and championship dancer Raza Begg.
