About iBlowdry
As a bartender at Pure Nightclub, Melissa Bordinhao knows the importance of maintaining an image on the Strip. For years, she would primp and preen before going to her job with help from her best friend and professional hairstylist Tasha Jordan, who gladly worked overtime to style Melissa’s locks. The pair realized that not everyone is lucky enough to have a friend so skilled with a blow dryer and that "if you want just a blowout, most hairstylists aren’t going to waste their time,” as Melissa told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Thus, iBlowdry was born.
As a throwback to the weekly beauty-salon visits of their mothers’—or perhaps even their grandmothers’—time, Melissa and Tasha's salon invites clients to stop in for a simple wash and set. Unlike the salons of yesteryear, iBlowdry is open until midnight every day, catering to Las Vegas’s nightlife and increasing vampire epidemic. Clients can choose from eight blowout styles, each named after a flower, from the loose flowing curls of the signature Dandelion look to the Baby Breath style created specifically for children. Though iBlowdry has received a flood of positive press for its style-focused services, washing and drying isn’t all the crew handles. Stylists also cut and color strands, apply floor-sweeping extensions, and dress up faces and nails with makeup applications, brow waxes, and mani-pedis.
Crisp white walls and robin’s-egg blue tapestries encircle iBlowdry’s chic and sophisticated space, which mirrors the glamorous styles created there day in and day out. Men, women, and children can sink into a white styling chair and admire their reflection and lack of a third eye in the modular mirrors that adorn almost every wall. Sunlight floods the space during the day, whereas nighttime allows a silver hue to shimmer across the metallic decor.
