It seems like everyone and their toddler has a smartphone, which means phone repair techs are a dime a dozen. But iCracked isn't interested in bringing on just anyone, despite their national reach and growing customer base. In fact, founder A.J. Forsythe once estimated to the Washington Post that they turn away 90% of applicants because they don't fit their standards for professional experience. This discernment is all part of the company's mission to make iCracked to people with broken devices what AAA is to stranded drivers. Read on to learn more about their modern, savvy business model:
They come to you. Instead of frantically searching for the nearest repair shop, users just have to visit iCracked's website to connect with a local iTech. Within minutes, someone from a network of nearly 4,000 iTechs will be dispatched to any location your choice at a time that works for you, morning, noon, or night.
But it won't be just anyone. Users can learn about their iTech before meeting with them. Much like Uber, iCracked.com provides the tech's name, photo, and rating, as well as the number of services they've completed for iCracked. All of this information is available before you confirm your repair.
And their work is good. Though iCracked only accepts the top 10% of applicants, these techs must still complete the company's rigorous certification program. This ensures consistent service—often completed in an hour or less—backed by a lifetime warranty. For customers who are not 100% satisfied with the repair, iCracked will cover additional visits to resolve the issue.
They'll even buy your old stuff. If you've got some old smartphones, tablets, or telegraphs to unload, iTechs can come pick them up. Users are paid by prepaid debit card, check, or PayPal, and trade-in offers are locked in for 30 days. With the iCracked Advantage membership, users can earn even more money when it's time to sell, in addition to paying a lower deductible on repairs, and receiving other cost-saving perks.
