Il Vino Wine Bar
Exposed-brick walls seem to lean in close at Il Vino Wine Bar, hinting at the rustic nature of the shop’s pizzas and the warm regions of Europe, South America, California, and New Zealand that contribute to the wine list. Guests whisper conversations over the cork-topped tables, which bear those red, white, and sparkling wines. To take the edge off of the drinks, the staff also sets out plates of cheese and finger sandwiches that help fuel friendly chatter or heated arguments about which former president would make the best roommate. In plates of charcuterie, smoking and curing allows the earthy flavors of meat to shine more than traditional cooking methods.

“I had been walking by this place for weeks and it always looked like a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine with a friend. Last week I decided on going and then checked Groupon and found a great deal. Il Vino is really small but very intimate and cozy. They have a great wine selection and the lead guy there, Santiago - who was bartender, host, and serve - was very friendly and knew his stuff. I drank about 4 glasses of wine with my pizza, which leads me to my second point: I haven't frequented too many wine bars so I don't know if a low food selection is the norm, but there were only cheese, salads, paninis, and pizza. The pizza was great though, so I was happy. My friend, not so much lol. ”
