What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our instructors, at the very minimum, have earned their bachelor degrees- some from top tier universities such as Harvard and the University of Chicago. They undergo rigorous training developed and perfected over the course over 20 years. Many of our students have matriculated to universities such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, Harvard, etc. Our pricing is extremely competitive plus we pride ourselves in differentiated instruction based on our low instructor to student ratio
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
All course materials are provided. Students just need to bring pencils, an eraser, calculator, water bottle, and a light snack.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
We began our SAT/PSAT prep course out of pure necessity since typical prep course instructors were just teaching the course material, but were unable to analyze what each individual student really needed to focus on to increase overall score since their classes were so large. We began providing a detailed analysis for each student and were able to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses and proceed from that point so score improvement could be maximized. Our business has grown solely by word of mouth referrals. We now have locations on the East Bay, San Francisco, and the Peninsula.
What do you love most about your job?
We love to see the look on our students’ faces when a light bulb appears and they figure out how to solve a problem. We know that at that point, they have climbed a huge hurdle and have felt a sense of accomplishment as their confidence in their test taking abilities has increased tremendously. We see this in all of our students and this is the reason why we love helping our students succeed.
