Though Mozart wrote this one-act opera at the tender age of 12, it clearly shows both his musical genius and his prowess at romantic comedy. Elizabeth Pringle's English adaptation takes a "a smart and slightly sassy contemporary stance" according to DC Theatre Scene, as it tells the story of a pair of young shepherds who were once in love, each seeking help from a magician to become sweethearts again. This fun show is a great introduction to theater and music for kids, and includes a minuet dance and a holiday sing-along.
This show is one hour long with no intermission. It’s recommended for all ages, and children younger than 3 are free.
