Horses symbolize a wild, uncontrollable spirit, which is why rebellious teenagers sport mane-like mohawks and eat even the cores of their apples. Take the reins with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $39 for one day of horse camp for a child aged 5–8, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (a $79 value)
- $29 for one day of horse camp for a child aged 9–11, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (a $59 value)
During one day of horse camp, kids learn the ropes of riding from a certified instructor. They are each assigned a horse—who they will learn to ride, feed, and groom—and receive a workbook. Snacks and drinks are provided, but children must bring or purchase lunch. Those who take two weeks of camp can take a test to receive a beginners' horsemanship certification.
In The Breeze Ranch
Dangling leaves drape over trails that cut through foliage and over trickling streams. More than 40 horses navigate these pathways with both riders of all skill levels on their backs as the certified guides of In The Breeze Horse Ranch lead the way. Founded in 1993 on a pastoral plot of land in Hillsborough County, In The Breeze teaches riding lessons, takes guests on trails, and hosts parties for up to 500 people on its grounds. Owner Lynda Fowler has spent more than 30 years teaching horsemanship and 21 years of curating children's camps during school breaks. She also hosts a series of seasonal events, such as hayrides and a giant campfire, for riders.
