Q:

my granddaughter, age 15 1/2 , will be visiting here in Clearwater and I wonder if I could purchase 2 days / 2 groupons, and if it is allowed for her to attend 2 consecutive days, will she have 2 different days of experiences and still have 2 trail rides as well ?

Nancy H.  asked on  Apr 18, 2014

A:

Anything you would like, however you would like. Buy single and attend up to 5 days, buy doubles and attend the course of 10 days to get certified in Horsemanship. Please have her at the Ranch no later than 9 am and as early as 7:30. Arrange to pick her up at 3:30pm. At 3:30 she will then turn into a "wrangler" and be given chores, grooming, unsaddling, cleaning the barn, feeding, watering haying etc. We like for the children to be picked up by 5, when the office closes. 6pm for certain circumstances once in awhile. It is always best to call Sandy 813-264-1919 the office Mgr. or the Ranch General Mgr. Samantha 813-735-5089. Special questions and exceptions please call me, or text: Lynda Fowler 813-382-1919.

Q:

When I asked my 87-year old mother if there was anything she missed doing and wished she could one more time, she said she would like to ride a horse (she was quite the horse woman growing up). I said I was sure there was a place that would let her walk some gentle horse and that we would help her get on, she replied that she would never be able to get off. Would allowing her to ride around a ring be possible at your Ranch? Mom is healthy, a little chubby, has trouble with her knees (brain functions very well). Thank you, Beth Lindenberg, St. Petersburg, FL

Beth L.  asked on  Apr 19, 2014

A:

Dear Beth, I am not quite sure if she would be the oldest person we ever put on a horse at In The Breeze, but we would be honored. We have a walk up loading block, a step on horse saddle, lots of wonderful very strong cowboys so willing to please. Getting on and off should not be a problem. The problem is balance and knees. We have 40 lovely horses who ride 4 and 5 year old children all day. Our horses are bred, born and raised on the ranch and of the finest of nature. The trails are lovely and we could have a wrangler walk along side her for comfort. She may ride as long as she would like. We do have a round pen and Arena, but this time of the year the trails are so lovely. To dismount we will just have her slide off however she feels comfortable. The loading block is an option, we will be there for her. If she is able to take her right leg and with help swing it around the back of the saddle by leaning forward, then she can easily slide off with her belly in the saddle and us there to make her dismount gentle, controlled and comfortable. A week day would be best, if possible. Please call the office 813-264-1919. You should plan to take pictures and ride along side on your very own steed. All our staff are volunteers . We have treats in the office if you would like to purchase and feed the horses and animals. Ms. Lynda

Q:

Sorry if being redundant. If I buy the limit of 5 groupons @ $19 each, my daughter could go to one week of camp. If I buy 5 @ $39, her and a friend could go for 5 consecutive days? If I would like for her to do 2 weeks, the next 5 days would be at regular costs, right?

Suzanne G.  asked on  Apr 19, 2014

A:

Yes, whatever you want and however you would like. Just remember the course is 10 days and they will want the horsemanship certification. Ask for a discount for the second week for both children. Tell them Lynda sent you.

Q:

any chance a 10 year old could do this if her 12 year old sister was doing it too?

Kim F.  asked on  Apr 18, 2014

A:

Sorry, as stated in the Fine Print, children must be 12-17 years old to partake in camp.

A:

We at In The Breeze are unable to offer this price to a 10 year old. The class structures are different, more counselors, junior counselors and assistant counselors per child, however, if you call the office and speak with Sandy or Samantha we will work something out for you that will please you. We never want to turn a child away for camp. This is a rewarding experience for any child.

Q:

What are the camp hours? Full day vs Half day. How early do they arrive and how late can stay?

AnaMaria V.  asked on  Apr 18, 2014

A:

You can see the camp hours when you go here.

A:

We have no half day. Actual camp hours are 9:30-3:30pm. This group 12-17 ages need to be at the barn by 9am to saddle and get on the trail by 9:15-9:30am. While the 9-11 age group arrive at the barn for their lessons on safety, grooming, saddling, then riding etc. The little ones ages 5-8 at 9:30 are in the classroom and then Round Pen learning the same things on a different level. Everyone would have had the opportunity to ride in the mornings and in the afternoons. At 3:30 starts pick up times and we strongly recommend you pick up your child as soon as possible. This is a very long day and your child will be tired. The office closes at 5 but we will wait for you if it is necessary for you to be a little longer. We very much would like to work with you and your hours etc.

Q:

I just wanted to confirm that if i buy 5 days they can all be used by the same child?

Robin H.  asked on  Apr 19, 2014

A:

It was set up that way. Buy the doubles for 5 days and bring a friend or attend two weeks. Our "Horsemanship Certification" is designed for a two week course. On the second Thursday your child will be given written test, if passes and on Friday a HANDS ON RIDING testing in the Arena. Parents invited. BBQ Picnic etc. All we would like to do is please you and your child and their friends. It seems to be more fun if your child comes with a friend.
