In a proper tasting wine must be held up to the light to gauge its color, tossed on a cat's back to judge its acidity, and sipped through a crazy straw to annoy the host. Become the toast of any tasting with today's Groupon for a wine tasting at Indian Creek Winery in Georgetown. Choose between the following options:
- For $19, you get a wine tasting for two, including wine sampling, a full glass of wine, glassware, a cheese and sausage tray, and a bottle of wine to share (up to a $51 value).
- For $29, you get a wine tasting for four, including wine sampling, a full glass of wine, glassware, a cheese and sausage tray, and a bottle of wine to share (up to a $79 value).
The winemakers of Indian Creek Winery please patrons' palates with carefully crafted wines served amid the scenic atmosphere of southern Indiana. Guests sample one of the winery's piquant potables, which may include dry varietals such as the Dry Creek red, sweet variations such as Cardinal red or Just Peachy, or curious concoctions such as purple. Indian Creek's staff bring a comprehensive knowledge of their brand's brews to each tasting, enriching the sampling experience and making it easier to select a wine with which to fill a full glass (a $5 value/person) while noshing from a sizable sausage and cheese tray (an $18 value). Participants also receive logoed glassware (a $5 value/glass) and a bottle of wine (up to a $21 value) to commemorate their experience and toast a special occasion. Today's Groupon is good for groups of two or four, allowing groups of friends to share quality time and tastes together in a venue more exotic than a restaurant and more user friendly than a horse-drawn cafeteria.
Indian Creek Winery
Indian Creek Winery came to be as the result of a 15-day road trip embarked upon by Mark Kendall and his wife. As the couple drove across the Southeast, they visited every winery they found between Alabama and Virginia Beach. At the trip's end, they'd acquired the inspiration to plant their own grapevines on Georgetown soil. Since then, they've developed wines that range from a three-wine blend called Dry Creek Red to a riesling sweet enough to make honey glow the envious green of a lovelorn alien. Visitors to the winery can take a seat indoors, or outdoors amid scenic views and live music, to pair red and white sips with platters of cheeses, summer sausage, and dried fruit.
