Fundamental classes introduce new students to the CrossFit program, teaching foundational movements such as Olympic lifts and helping prep students for the intensity of regular classes. After students have displayed a base level of conditioning and basic understanding of the program, they can drop in to any Workout of the Day (WOD) class. At Inner Strength CrossFit, instructors create a cooperative and supportive environment for building dynamic strength and fitness. Certified instructor Nick Kirkes slowly ramps up incoming students, teaching CrossFit’s approach to fitness and introducing the system’s core moves over the course of several foundational classes. Athletes can then pursue new goals for power, agility, and balance as they pull weight sleds, bound through box jumps, and hurl medicine balls.
