Paintball is like a production of Hamlet: it's exciting, demanding, and by the end everyone has pretend-died. Take paintball arms against a sea of troubles with today's Groupon: for $15, you get a full-day field admission, equipment rental (paintball gun, chest protector, mask, and CO2) (a $21.05 value), and 200 paintballs (a $9 value) at Insane Paintball (a $30.05 total value).
Insane Paintball's facility plays host to multiple fields, including a 50,000-square-foot indoor speedball field with artificial turf, three outdoor fields, and a 6,500-square-foot staging area for beginners. Add extra color to the summer with alfresco play, turning opponents into works of abstract expressionist art as you crawl through fallen leaves, weave in and out of trees, and scale the fort field's 4 two-story and 10 one-story buildings. Before marching to the battlefield, suit up with a chest protector, mask, marker, and compressed air tank, and throw some Keebler cookies in your pockets to easily recruit woodland creatures to your defense force. For rainy days or evening play, step into Insane Paintball’s indoor facility, with an artificial turf that lets players slide, dive, and tend to artificial gardens. Insane Paintball has open playing hours Friday–Sunday.
"Tread softly," say players on Insane Paintball’s outdoor forts course. No matter how careful you are on the ground, opponents likely lurk atop the field’s 14 one- and two-story buildings, waiting to strike on the unsuspecting players below. More buildings tower above the wooded field, where teams can take cover behind mounds and old, paint-splattered cars.
Those pellets fire from Insane Paintball’s semi-automatic rental guns, part of gear packages that include face masks and compressed-air bottles. Snacks await players after long stretches of recreational, scenario, or tournament games, as do shopping sprees inside an on-site 3,500-square-foot retail store. Besides stocking new gear, the store hosts certified technicians, who repair malfunctioning equipment such as guns that only let players load crayon nubs.
