With the world's only time machine incapable of traveling anywhere in the past other than a live studio taping of Paul Lynde's Halloween special, tennis fans have given up hope of seeing the game's legends in action. Today's Groupon offers a dimension-disrupting chance to enjoy yesterday's tennis stars today: for $28, you get a ticket to your choice of two sessions of the Staples Champions Cup (a $55 value for the ticket, plus an included $2 service fee). The first session is Thursday, April 29, at 7 p.m., and the second session is Friday, April 30, at 7 p.m. The ticket is for "silver"-level seating on the lower bowl level of Agganis Arena.

The Staples Champions Cup brings together the timeless titans of tennis, including Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, for a round-robin tournament of fierce backhands and friendly back-talk. During the first session of the men's singles quarterfinal tournament, Borg, the former top tennis player in the world, will show off the racqueteering that won him five consecutive Wimbledon titles as he takes on Mikael Pernfors, a finalist at the 1986 French Open, in a showdown of Swedish swagger. In the second match of the first session, Mark Philippoussis, a finalist at both the U.S. Open and Wimbledon, will fly-swat the fuzzy yellow insect sent buzzing over the net by Olympic silver medalist Wayne Ferreira. Because there actually is a rule that says a sassy talking mule can't play tennis, the third match has been canceled.

The first match of the second session on April 30 brings together Jim Courier—the former number-one-ranked tennis player and a victor at both the French Open and the Australian Open—and Jimmy Arias, the co-winner of the 1982 French Open mixed-doubles championship. During the second match of the second session, tennis icon McEnroe will teach a course in dinner-party etiquette while exchanging volleys with Mats Wilander, a past winner at the U.S. Open, the Australian Open, and the French Open. Stretch out your neck for an afternoon of swiveling and enjoy some legendary tennis with today's Groupon to the Staples Champions Cup.
