At Inspired Photography, seasoned instructors impart their shooting prowess to budding shutterbugs during interactive, daylong workshops. The photography class transcends camera basics, and instead delves into more complex camera operations and manual shooting techniques. Digital SLRs or point-and-shoot cameras in hand, students stock up on macro-photography tips and night-photography tactics for shooting nocturnal subjects such as fridge-raiding roommates. Classes also analyze the art of image composition and dissect digital processing software in order to enhance smiles and photoshop mischievous sparkles into every subject's eye. Instructors then assign students a photo project, granting photographers a chance to put their sharpened shooting skills to use and glean constructive feedback. The workshop includes an hour-long lunch break, and, for an hour after class, instructors avail themselves to field inquiries.

About Inspired Photography
Weddings are Kara Selby's passion. She's been the bride in one, a guest at several, and the lead photographer at more than 50 matrimonial celebrations. This extensive experience has imbued Kara with an instinctive understanding of these events as a whole, and has trained her to avoid common glitches, such as forgetting to blur the face of an undercover best man. With the help of other shutterbugs at Inspired Photography, Kara captures the intimate details of a bride's big day, from close-up shots of bridal jewellery and bouquets to posed portraits of the wedding party and candid shots of the couple's first dance.
Kara also exports her signature style to portrait photography, snapping heartwarming photos of pregnant mothers, newborns, and families. She frequently swaps traditional eye-level portraits for quirky canted angles and aerial shots of sleeping babies in colour and black and white. Her studio also plays host to playful boudoir shoots that often incorporate props ranging from stilettos and pearls to guitars and umbrellas.
Not content merely to stay behind the lens, Kara passes her substantial image savvy on to pupils via hands-on, in-studio workshops that help nascent photographers get acquainted with their camera’s operations and functions through interactive tutorials and by reading embarrassing diary entries from the operations manual.
