David and Lee Ann Lester, owners of International Fine Arts Expositions, usher in contemporary art from more than 60 international exhibitors at both Art Palm Beach and the American International Fine Art Fair, with cutting-edge collections that feature photography, installation, performance, and video pieces. A virtual gallery of stills affords inquisitive eyes brief glimpses of works, but large-scale installations, such as a scale model of Animals Always, have stunning troves of artifacts that must be seen, smelled, tasted, and tapped with a salami log for optimum appreciation. Lectures and symposiums throughout the weekend give guests a chance to discuss artistic issues and themes and get the artists' answers to questions such as “Why is your top hat filled with toothbrush heads?” Those opting for a first look at the show will skirt the crowds in style and enjoy a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception, where the classiest things you can eat and drink are paired with the classiest things at which you can look.
Children 12 years old and younger receive free admission to both shows when accompanied by an adult.
