International Museum of Cultures

Though many anthropological museums focus on peoples who are long gone, the International Museum of Cultures displays more than 10 storied exhibits on contemporary indigenous populations from around the world, including Papua New Guinea, Mexico, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Here, visitors glean insight into the respective cultures and the challenges they face. As guests peruse the displays, they can explore Lakota Sioux artifacts such as dream catchers and arrowheads, learn about the hunter-gatherer Agta from the Philippines, and listen to Drumbeats of the World, an interactive exhibit that pulsates with percussive heartbeats from Ecuador, Pakistan, and Korea.

Customer Reviews

The gentleman that showed us around was very knowledgeable! My teen kids and a friend of theirs enjoyed seeing the exhibits from different countries etc.

It was perfect since we are studying countries and cultures this year. We all enjoyed it, great for all ages. Very relaxed. Gift shop had items from 10 cents up, so all of my kiddos were able to purchase a souvenir. Thank you for the Groupon otherwise we would not have known about the museum, great price.

Great Museum for those who love indigenous cultures and history in general. The best way to learn about ourselves is through learning about others and this museum is a great start in such a path self discovery!
