About International Quilt Museum
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln offers the world's only quilt studies program, so it's no surprise that the campus is also home to the International Quilt Museum. The center is home to the world's largest publicly held quilt collection, which includes more than 4,500 works of textile arts spanning more than 300 years and several dozen countries. Aside from displaying work from contemporary quilt artists and generations-old pieces, scholars and experts frequently provide talks and guided tours on the craftsmanship and rich history of quilting. Even the building itself is an ode to quilting with glass windows that represent the squares of a quilt and a reception hall shaped like the eye of a needle.
