Choose Between Two Options

  • $99 for a two-hour guided kayak tour for up to four (a $260 value)
  • $149 for a four-hour guided kayak fishing tour for up to four (a $340 value)

Guided kayak adventures embark from various destinations throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas, including the Youghiogheny River, Kiskiminetas River, and Loyalhanna Lake. On the four-hour fishing tour, guide and avid fisherman Larry Spritz shares the best spots to find largemouth bass, walleyes, and other fish native to the local rivers. Guides provide the kayaks and other equipment, but they recommend that visitors bring sunscreen, bug spray, and a waterproof camera. Customers who wish to add extra travelers or time on either tour can do so for an added fee.

Iron City Outfitters

The bustle of the Iron City recedes into memory as adventurers push their kayaks into the water and begin paddling toward undisturbed pockets of Pennsylvanian wilderness. These adventurers often follow in the wake of Larry Spritz, a devoted fisherman and the owner of Iron City Outfitters, whose guided kayak tours explore local destinations such as the Allegheny and Monongahela—two prongs of the city’s three major rivers. Larry and his team of guides also captain fishing trips, during which anglers search for largemouth bass and pan fish while avoiding encounters, at all cost, with Pittsburgh’s notorious Pirates.
