What You Get
This is a 2-Day course (8am-6pm the first day, and 8am-2pm day two). Students will receive two handbooks (NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting, and Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home). Day one consists of all classroom time and day two is almost all range time.
Day one Topics are: firearms safety, pistol nomenclature and selecting a pistol for self-defense, types of ammunition for self-defense, basic defensive pistol skills, drawing from concealment, loading and stoppage remediation, having a winner’s mindset, situational awareness, “Fight/Flight/Paralyzed type responses”, the proper response to an identified threat, Deadly Force and when that right ends, better skills to communicate with law enforcement after a shooting, knowledge of home security and defense plans, and students will be given a take-home test.
Day two Consists of going over the take-home test, drawing from a holster, cover and concealment meanings and how to use them, the enhancement of the students firearms fundamentals, sighted fire and point shooting differences, single-handed shooting, dry-fire shooting drills, and then the shooting test.

Instructor Jake is a veteran of the USMC Infantry (Honorably Discharged), with a Bachelors in Law, 21 Graduate credits in Aquisition and Supply Chain Mgmt, have worked as a contractor in Physical Security for 20 years (NASA, FDA, and NIH), was a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, and have shot in competition speed shooting tournaments in IDPA, and IPSC.
