Turtle Canyon is open water snorkeling, and is on average 18ft deep. While most days are quite nice, we do still deal with currents, tides and swells. If someone doesn't know how to swim, then we recommend they do not get in the water. We do provide a flotation device, but it is not a life vest (PFD). If a non swimmer would still like to join us, then I'd recommend that they go to a local dive shop and rent a PFD for the day. They're typically around $10 or less per day. Otherwise, we also offer an observer's ticket for $25 if they would just like to come along for the ride and enjoy the island from a different view. They will also be able to see turtles from the boat as well.
