Jackson - Lower Garden District: $20 for $40 Worth of Upscale Comfort Fare for Dinner Monday–Thursday at Jackson (or $10 for $20 Worth Anytime)

When deprived of flavorful sustenance, the mouth will often retaliate by shouting your bank-account number at sporting events or turning every sentence into a high-pitched jingle. Tame an unruly tongue with today’s Groupon to Jackson. Choose between the following options:

  • For $20, you get $40 worth of upscale southern comfort fare for dinner after 5 p.m. Monday–Thursday.
  • For $10, you get $20 worth of upscale southern comfort fare at any time.

Jackson beckons guests through its doors with a carefully crafted menu of southern and Cajun classics bolstered by contemporary twists and homemade accents. The oyster and crawfish po' boy glazes an assortment of fried Gulf oysters and sautéed crawfish tails with a house-made, creole ravigote sauce before layering strata of lettuce, tomato, and onion atop the creation ($12), and gumbo du jour saturates an atoll of Louisiana "Jazzmen" rice with local and seasonal ingredients ($8). Marinated, slow-roasted jerk chicken muscles its way onto a plate with a boursin whipped sweet-potato puree and a kaleidoscopic smattering of grilled bell pepper and red onion ($19), competing for customer attention with the blackened, wild-caught tuna steak ($21). Customers can also come in for Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., to distract warring utensils with Grand Marnier french toast ($11), or fried-green-tomato and shrimp benedict ($14).

Balcony and patio seating in Jackson’s Garden District location make for a laid-back, easy afternoon. Customers can sit back and admire artwork-adorned walls while sipping a glass of wine from their diverse list of international ambassadors, including Oxford sauvignon blanc ($7/glass), Mil Piedras malbec ($8/glass), and Antarctic melted ice wine.
