About Jackson Ski Touring Foundation
One of the largest stand-alone nordic centers in the eastern United States, Jackson Ski Touring Foundation oversees a vast network of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails in and around the town of Jackson, New Hampshire. This snowy jurisdiction blankets 60 square miles of terrain, which includes three river valleys, the highlands of the White Mountains, and the Presidential Ridge hovering on the horizon, as well as innumerable pine trees. In addition to these postcard-worthy surroundings, skiers and snowshoers may pass by such man-made scenery as the village's white-steeple church, the red covered bridges, the eateries, and the country bed-and-breakfasts that reside by the trailside.
Visitors can explore the more than 154 kilometers of trails on day jaunts or throughout the season with a membership. Beginners can enroll in workshops on basic technique taught by certified Professional Ski Instructors of America, and children can participate in ski games to build confidence and make friends. Tours and race courses are also available for experienced skiers. After a day of fun, adventurers can freshen up in the lodge's locker room and then meet up to debate whether the Abominable Snowman is really just Big Foot on a skiing holiday.
