Choose Between Two Options

For the beginner's photography workshop, participants must bring their own DSLR camera. During the session, Janice Street demonstrates how to use a DSLR camera's basic manual features, including aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. The lesson covers the role of metering and introduces basic artistic principles such as how to make regular trees look like Van Gogh's fancy ones. Customers also receive 50% off a Level 2 class to continue honing their skills.

During the four-hour exploratory "What Camera is Best for You?" workshop, up to 30 attendees learn about the features of various cameras. By comparing functions and determining what they wish to photograph, participants gain knowledge to help them make informed purchases in the future.

New classes are added often; check the schedule for course additions.

Janice Street Photography & Design

As an award winning photographer with over 30 years of experience photographing all types of subjects, Janice Street decided to teach others to do the same. She instills confidence in novice photographers through a series of five-hour workshops, during which she guides students through technical operations, such as setting f-stop and shutter speed, at an easy pace. Students also hone their compositional skills, such as selecting depth of field, as Janice helps them snap challenging shots. She also shows students Photoshop techniques that can improve an image in the editing room, such as balancing an image's colours.

When not teaching photography, Janice contributes to the field. Some of her specialties include candid portraits of children and adults, landscapes, nature shots, architecture, night photography, and action shots. Many of her photographs are available as calendars, books, canvas prints, postcards, greeting cards, DVDs, and screen savers.

Customer Reviews

Hadn't heard of her/company until I received the Groupon. I liked the length of the program, what she was offering, and of course, the great price. Well worth the time and money. Small class, hands on and really enjoyed the outdoor exercise. Look forward to taking Level II.
