Celebrate the legacy of a true American icon, singer Frank Sinatra, during Jazz at Lincoln Center's Monty Alexander & Friends: Sinatra at 100 With Special Guest Kurt Elling. When pianist Alexander was just a teenager, Sinatra heard him play in a nightclub, leading to Alexander's regular gig in a top NYC jazz club that helped shape his career. Through the years, Alexander went on to become a legend himself, working with such illustrious artists as Miles Davis, Tony Bennett and Dizzy Gillespie. During this special tribute, Alexander will share anecdotes about Ol' Blue Eyes while playing his timeless songs. He'll be joined by Grammy Award-winning vocalist Kurt Elling. Known for his dynamic stage presence, Elling has an astounding four-octave vocal range and has been honored by the bible of jazz (DownBeat magazine) as best male vocalist for the past 14 years.
