What You'll Get
Connective tissue, like self-esteem and wads of swallowed bubblegum, keeps the human body from falling apart. Manipulate the mortar of your mortal form with today’s Groupon: for $59, you get a 90-minute rolfing session from certified rolfer Jed Bentley in Berkeley (a $135 value).
Jed Bentley employs years of massage-therapy and rolfing experience to unbundle tightly coiled muscle groups and improve postures. Rolfing gently manipulates fascia—the body’s connective tissue that, like the urge to flex in public places, extends to every muscle in the body—to decrease chronic pain, increase range of motion, and build the client’s connection with his or her own body. Throughout the procedure, the rolfer treats the body’s bone glue to a series of careful, controlled pressure techniques, stretches, and pep talks.
To keep things comfortable, patients are encouraged to wear underwear, shorts, and a loose-fitting top to each session. Though today’s deal is good for only one 90-minute session, rolfing intends to rework each patient's posture and well-being through the 10 series, working with the outermost tissues in the first treatments before tackling the body’s inner chocolate core.

About Jed Bentley Rolfing
Since everyone experiences life through one medium—their bodies—professional Rolfer Jed Bentley uses his hands-on skills to ensure those bodies are in good working order. As a certified Rolfer, Jed has studied the ways in which all parts of the body are connected, and he knows how to correct ailments with manual adjustments of the fascia—the body's connective tissue. When fascia constricts, it causes bodily pain and poor posture. Once it has been adjusted during a Rolfing session, the body can stand taller and straighter without any additional effort and with less pain. Jed emphasizes that Rolfing addresses emotional troubles as well as physical ones—clients should be open to long-lasting emotional change as well as physical, usually within a few months. Clients who wish to better acquaint themselves with the Rolfing process can peruse the FAQ here.
