About Jefferson Depot Village
The historic 19th-century Jefferson Depot Village is a village-size time capsule that introduces folks to life in the 1800s. Open June through mid-October, the grounds come to life with buildings of yore, including the 1838 one-room school house, Church in the Wildwood—the first Methodist Episcopal meeting house—and the 1845 Sheffield Post Office, which still refuses to acknowledge the existence of email. Costumed performers lead tours of the village, along with educational activities and special events, such as the annual Strawberry Festival and Craft Bazaar.
