Q:

What is the approximately 'time of flight' with the $79 Groupon 20-minute introductory option? And how long is the teaching session beforehand?

Debbie F.  asked on  Nov 21, 2012

A:

Hi Debbie, 20 minutes is the actual flight time with this package. The clock starts when the pilot walks into the water to start their flight. The nice thing is that, with the way we train, most first-time pilots are up flying in the first 5-10 minutes. The whole experience from start to finish is about 2 hours, which includes check-in at the office, safety video, equipment orientation, walking to and from the flight location (about 5-10 minutes), getting fitted for wetsuit, life vest and walkie-talkie helmet, and actual flight time. If you're interested, you can upgrade from the 20-minute package to the full 30-minute experience for an additional $79. Or we offer a bundle with 10-minutes of extra flight time and standard video for $109 or premium video for $179 (you can see video examples of each on our website). Hope that helps!

Q:

This groupon expires by 03/20/13. I am assuming that the weather and water would still be cold. With that, do we prepare our own wet suit or do you guys offer rentals and what is the charge?

Anne S.  asked on  Nov 21, 2012

A:

Hi Anne, thankfully the weather and water temps never get too cold here in Southern California (we're looking forward to 80 degree temps this holiday weekend), but there are definitely days when it's chilly in the winter months. We always have a full set of wetsuits from XS to XXXL on hand to use (at no charge) while you're flying. Just bring a nice, comfy sweatshirt or jacket to bundle up in after your flight and you'll be all good.

Q:

Is there a weight maximum? My son weighs 240/50 lbs.

Wanda S.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

Hi Wanda, the max weight is 330 lbs, so your son is well-within range. And the bigger guys tend to fly great, since they're very stable. Hope that helps!
