A Chat with Jennifer Hlavaty, LMT at JMZ Spa
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Specializing in Deep tissue Sports massage, I also cater to expectant mom’s with my specialized prenatal table, as well as perform spa treatments in a relaxed atmosphere. All sessions include option of hot stones, aromatherapy, and targeted deep tissue at no extra charge.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
After spending 6 years in Tahoe working on athletes at an Olympic ski resort, I returned to Boise to focus on providing beneficial massage and spa treatments at an affordable price, so that clients can see and feel the difference regular body work makes.
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy seeing the improvement in quality of life. Clients begin to walk straighter, and experience less stress, fatigue, and headaches with regular massage sessions. That is the best reward to me.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
Clients often tell me that I have a gift, that my hands go to afflicted areas automatically. I truly love what I do, and I have been told that it shows.
There’s no "I" in team, nor is there a "lack of diverse talents." As owners of JMZ Spa-lon, Jean and Michael Zoberski lead a team of beauty experts who specialize in different areas. Eight stylists use their experience and training to cut, color, and style hair to specifications. A lash-extension pro draws attention to the eyes with faux lashes that create a fuller look without needing to apply mascara or lots of turkey and gravy. A skin specialist removes unwanted hair with waxing, clears out pores with facials, or bronzes skin with spray-tanning services. To boot, a half dozen massage therapists improve circulation and alleviate chronic pain by applying pressure during a Swedish, deep-tissue, or pregnancy massage, and nail technicians tend to fingers and toes, impeding cuticle growth and sharpening nails for tool-less porch whittlin’.
