Q&A with Joe Guckien, Personal Trainer

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
I explain to my clients how the program works, and that it will take some time and effort on their part to reach their goals. Then I put them through a world-class exercise program. In addition to this, they have to stick to their diet outside the gym to see results.

When and how did you first develop a passion for fitness?
My passion for fitness started as a teenager. In 2006, I signed up with a personal trainer for a year and was really surprised at the gains I made in a short period of time. All along, I knew that there was more to know than just picking up a weight and doing an exercise. I became certified in 2008. I also entered a local bodybuilding show in 2010 and won third place.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
As a certified personal trainer, Joe specializes in strength and sports conditioning, running, weight-loss, nutrition counseling, and custom training routines, He's nationally certified by the IFPA and has been a fitness professional since 2008. As your trainer, Joe is dedicated and determined to get you where you want to be. He feels that fitness is the cornerstone to overall health and that getting fit is the first step to a new and healthy lifestyle.
