Joel Lane's Public House
Named for Colonel Joel Lane, one of the nine founding fathers of the city of Raleigh, Joel Lane's Public House celebrates his memory with good food and good drink. Their line up of libations includes the man's 250-year old private label whiskey, called Cherry Bounce. In addition to pouring the fine, aged beverage over ice, they make barbeque sauce with this delectable libation and use the sauce to cover their signature wings. The craft beer menu features a seasonally rotating selection that can include drafts by local breweries, such as LoneRider, Foothills, and Triangle. Despite its historical origins, the restaurant's décor boasts a certain degree of modern elegance, with patterned marble tables, an enormous skylight, and iron and glass wall sconces.
