About Joella Hayes Salon
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
I am a certified master color expert with Wella International. Only a few hundred of us in Northern America with this title. I specialize in healthy color, corrective color, balayage, and natural blondes or the bronde look that is so hot right now.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I wanted to have the ability to create a place of my own. I heard from a lot of clients that it was intimidating at times to walk in a salon so I wanted to create a place that was more intimate. People have said they feel comfortable from start to finish in my chair. I see a person look in the mirror with so much confidence after coming in with none and they wont stop taking selfies.
What do you love most about your job?
I am able to bring my love for art, teaching people what I've learned about hair & health and my love for helping people achieve their best self all in one place and I actually get to call it work.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
I will never forget one of my clients. She had stage 4 cancer. She came in one day feeling awful and so low of energy. She didn't want to look in the mirror though her appointment. When I turned her around she got the hugest smile on her face and tears in her eyes. I'll never forget her or that reaction to my work. That is why I love what I do.
