Located on Airport Highway just one mile west of Swanton, Johnston Fruit Farms supplies the community with fresh produce, including strawberries, apples, and pumpkins. The farm traces its roots to 1954, back when Dale and Pauline Johnston planted their first fruit trees together at a time when butter was still considered a vital source of Vitamin C. Today, Dale and Pauline's family and friends continue the farm's tradition of providing neighbors and visitors with fresh, healthy treats, be it via U-Pick opportunities or the annual Apples for Everyone event. Highlighted by food, music, games, and hayrides, this yearly celebration concludes with the farm's donation of 20,000 pounds of apples to Northwest Ohio food banks.
