Joos Yoga lengthens limbs and harnesses mind wanderings in small classes to foster a peaceful and communal learning environment. A wide selection of class varietals hosted by bendy instructors offers options for beginners, intermediate yogis, and those who have already mastered the ability to fasten their belts with their eyelashes. Try out a 90-minute session of Jivamukti, one of the nine internationally recognized styles of Hatha yoga, which is based on tenets such as meditation and the cultivation of devotion and humility. Or, revitalize workdays with an All Levels Flow class, suitable for practitioners in any stage of bodily enlightenment and offered in 60-, 75-, and 90-minute increments. Jai Mama prenatal 75-minute classes are geared toward moms-to-be who want to practice centred breathing and use extrasensory communication to foster the cessation of in-womb swing dancing.
As of 8/31, Joos Yoga has relocated from it's 23rd Street West location to Hot Yoga on 20th, located at 117 20th St. W, Unit 2/F in Saskatoon.
Owner Jan Henrikson has travelled Europe, the U.S., and Canada to absorb the yoga teachings of renowned masters, earning her certification in the Hatha style of Jivamukti. Since then, she has established herself in Saskatoon as a yoga expert who accepts all skill levels. Subscribing to Woody Allen's belief that "80 per cent of success is just showing up," she encourages anyone, regardless of their experience, age, or build, to immerse themselves in the welcoming curriculum at Joos Yoga.
Jan's team of instructors lead classes in several styles, including Yin yoga, pre- and postnatal yoga, and Vinyasa flow. During every session, they foster a no-pressure atmosphere, often commingling beginners and advanced participants in many classes. Furthermore, they intentionally keep class sizes small to ensure students receive personalized attention and have enough room to expand their consciousness without bumping into someone else's pneuma.
