Artistic director and choreographer José Mateo goes back to his roots with The Cuba Files, featuring music from Cuban composers that's sure to warm up your winter. In this performance at the intimate, historic Sanctuary Theatre in Cambridge, you'll see Mateo's 2004 ballet Escape, depicting a woman trapped in the repressive environment of her homeland and set to Leo Brouwer's Concerto for Guitar and Violin. The piece stands in stark contrast to the vibrant Arroz con Mango, which explores themes of freedom and joy through the works of various composers. The Cuba Files will also feature the premiere of a new Mateo ballet that you won't want to miss.
This performance is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
Beer and wine are available for purchase at the cash bar during the performance.
