A nonprofit arts organization founded on the belief that dance is for everyone, Joy of Motion Dance Center offers lessons for all ages and abilities in more styles of dance than you can point a pirouetted toe at, and the newest addition to the repertoire is the Joy of Motion Dance Center's MOVE program. Open to all levels, the program combines the best of dance and fitness in hyper-kinetic power hours designed to maximize calorie burn, increase strength and flexibility, and build jazz hands of steel.

Check out the schedule for an overview of each class. Opt for the Afro-Brazilian/Afro-Cuban class, and you'll be introduced to a variety of traditional and contemporary dance steps that combine the rich history of the Yoruba religion with Caribbean-influenced movements. The Zumba class, meanwhile, inspired by the graceful mating dance of the Zamboni, tones and sculpts bodies as they shimmy through a combination salsa, merengue, cha cha, flamenco, belly, hip hop, and cumbia dance styles. Or, for less peripatetic prancers, there's the Stretch and Align class, which combines the gentle postures of yoga along with flowing motions and breathing relaxation techniques to leave you feeling at home in your body, freeing it of stress, tension, and lingering demonic possession.
In addition to their MOVE program, Joy of Motion Dance Center offers a wide variety of other drop-in dance classes. Founded in 1976, Joy of Motion Dance Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, provides high-quality dance education and performance experiences. Every week, Joy of Motion offers over 350 hours of classes and workshops to thousands of youth and adults in 10 studio spaces across three different locations.
