Q:

If you buy the Groupon for the canoe rental, can it be used for renting a kayak? And does it matter if that kayak is single or tandem?

Heather T.  asked on  May 20, 2012

A:

I'm sorry, but this Groupon is only valid for canoe or tubing rental.

Q:

How far in advance to you have to make a reservation? How far do you travel? Is there a guide? Is there transportation provided back to the starting point? How many people does the kayak hold? Maureen

Maureen C.  asked on  May 19, 2012

A:

We prefer you make your reservation as far in advance as possible. This assures you get the time you desire. The Groupon coupon is for a five mile float for canoes/kayaks and three miles for tubes. We will be happy to take you to one of our access points upstream, if you are canoeing, for the difference in the fee determined by the chosen point. A guide may be available for an additional, fee but is not necessary on the float. The Juniata River is hard to get lost on. We will shuttle your party up river 5 miles and you will float back to our site, the starting point where your vehicle is parked. We have one (single) and two man (tandem) kayaks. John

We impose no age or height restrictions for our river floats. Common sense on the part of the parents is the rule.

Q:

Can 2 adults and 3 small children (7, 4, 3) use a canoe together?

Stacie W.  asked on  May 18, 2012

A:

The canoes are typically two man boats. There are no seats in the middle. While small children can sit on the floor of the canoe, we suggest no more than two if possible. That being said, we will do our best to accommodate you. John
