What You'll Get
Unlike cinematic love scenes, cuisine can be enjoyed in the company of parents without embarrassment. Dodge future moments of uneasiness with today's Groupon: for $4, you get $8 worth of Vietnamese cuisine at Just Pho …and more on Baxter Street.
Just Pho serves authentic, flavorful Vietnamese dishes, including traditional, nutritious pho soups made with all-natural beef, chicken and vegetable broths.
Introduce incisors to Vietnamese fare with dual goi cuon, a spring roll of bean sprouts, steamed rice vermicelli, lettuce, pork, and shrimp wrapped in a transparent rice-paper sheath and served with peanut sauce ($3.75). Send taste-bud explorers overboard into the flavorful sea of pho tai gua, a traditional beef broth filled with thinly sliced, rare eye round beef, well-done brisket, rice noodles, and basil with lime and bean sprouts added at the diner’s discretion ($6.50–$9.99).
Just Pho’s time-tested vegetable broth builds the basis for the herbivore-friendly and filling pho chay, served with tofu and rice noodles ($7.50–$10.99). Hefty handhelds are also available in the form of banh mi-viet sandwiches such as the barbecue pork, with char-grilled Vietnamese barbecue-marinated pork on toasted Vietnamese-style french bread with fresh vegetables, pate, and house sauces ($3.99).
Guests can wash down delectables with a selection of seasonal tropical-fruit smoothies ($3.75 for a 16 oz.) and boba drinks ($3.75 for a 16 oz.) inside Just Pho’s comfortable dining room, which is adorned with rotating works of art by local artists. Just Pho also serves as a stage for local musicians on occasional Saturday evenings and as a venue for vampire ventriloquists on Tuesdays after midnight.
- the restaurant is scrupulous about its vegetarian offerings in general, to the point of offering a veggie version of fish sauce. – Hillary Brown, Flagpole
- The fried egg rolls were prepared fresh and it was still hot when it came out. No reheated, soggy, over-greasy mess here my friends. Just crispy, delicious egg rolls. – Sean, Take Thou Food
