About K G Physical Therapy

K G Physical Therapy is a cash pay physical therapy business that provides one on one care using manual therapy and dry needling techniques.

I am Dr. Kassia Garfield, Ed.D, DPT, PT, ATC, COMT, OCS! Yes, many letters there. I am a physical therapist starting out on my own, focusing mostly on Dry Needling. Currently I teach full time at Northwest Florida State College in their PTA program, teach online in a tDPT program and am an Air Force Reservist.

Dry needling is a new (ish) technique that uses acupuncture needles (I am not an acupuncturist), to release knots, tension and trigger points in tight muscles. Research is still up and coming, but I have been needling for 4 years and see a lot of wonderful results for chronic pain, headaches, post op pain, overuse injuries etc.. This does not fix everything, and the process can be uncomfortable leaving people feeling achy for a day afterwards, but they should feel some relief quickly. Spasm during initial injuries can be protective, but if not released, can cause trigger point referral patterns causing pain and dysfunction. Dry Needling can help release these trigger points.

As of right now, most insurance companies do not cover dry needling, so the cash rate is 55 for initial consultation and 35 for follow up treatments. I do not need a referral but am happy to take one.

Please let me know if you have questions, and I look forward to helping more patients live a pain free life.
