About Kabob and Curry
Kabob and Curry resides on what the Providence Journal has deemed “the most unique street in the state.” It’s a fitting location for the Indian restaurant, which is just as distinctive as its surroundings. And that one-of-a-kind quality stems largely from the aromatic creations of the head chef, Sanjiv Dhar, who earned his culinary chops in Austria, India, and the US. And when he's not sizzling up Indian delicacies in the kitchen, he's sharing his insights as a speaker, instructor, and TV cooking show host.
Kabob and Curry is the longest serving Indian restaurant in Rhode Island, opened since 1987 and getting ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
For seasonal menus, the illustrious Chef Dhar puts interesting, modern spins on old favorites, coming up with special dishes such as tandoori chicken wings and deep-fried pakoras made with sprouted mung beans. Of course, he’s no stranger to the Indian staples, either, regularly preparing a variety of tikka masalas, tandoori-cooked meats, and vegetable samosas. There's also an abundance of vegetarian options, starting with pakoras and ending on coconut mushroom curry.
