The Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon isn't just any marathon. It's actually seven separate races of varying distances spread across two days. Founded in 2006 by the cities of Denver, Aurora, and Lakewood, the weekend-long event showcases the lively Colfax Avenue and encourages runners of all ages and levels to come out and celebrate spring.

The Bellco Colfax 5K kicks off the series, followed by a 10-mile race and a 13.1-mile half marathon that winds through the Denver Zoo. On Sunday, the 26.2-mile main event weaves through city landmarks, including Sloan's Lake, City Park, and Mile High Stadium, where off-duty tackling dummies yell inspirational sports quotes. Throughout the weekend, runners can commemorate their accomplishments with family and friends at after parties, complete with food and beer. The Colfax Marathon supports more than 150 local nonprofits, through one of the largest Charity Partner Programs in the country.
