The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra has been beguiling southwest Michigan audiences with high-quality live music since 1921, with roughly 200 performances each season. On Jan. 15, soprano Angela M. Brown and the Western Michigan University Grand Chorus will join forces with the symphony to tackle Verdi’s mammoth Requiem. The symphony’s March 25 performance of Peter Boyer’s Ellis Island, presented in collaboration with the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre, will incorporate actors, images, and music to tell the story of immigrants’ lives. And Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture will be the centerpiece of the symphony’s April 15 concert, also featuring Beethoven's _Triple Concerto. All three performances will be held at Miller Auditorium on the Western Michigan University campus.
