Once mastered, chopsticks are the most manageable eating utensils, unlike forks, which get mangled in the dishwasher, or fingers, which get lost in the mouths of teething sock puppets. Eat easily with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of sushi, Japanese entrees, and drinks at Kamon Sushi.

Headquartered downtown, Kamon Sushi’s upbeat environment plays host to a cavalcade of fresh-rolled specialty sushi and traditional Japanese lunch and dinner entrees. Chef-crafted house rolls include the unagi with spicy tuna ($9.95) and the seared albacore in garlic-mayo sauce ($9.95), brimming with fish fresh enough to satisfy the most discerning of dolphin food critics. Diners ring three of five alarms for a medium-spicy Kamon chicken curry ($12.95), or lay out a blueprint for lunchtime with a bento box boasting sides such as a california roll and gyoza or a fried spring roll with a breaded potato cake ($7.95–$9.95). Every weekend from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the restaurant’s lively bar serves up a menu of $5 palate-pleasers, giving purpose to dollar bills passed over for their larger-denomination counterparts.

Kamon Sushi

Situated in the heart of downtown, Kamon Japanese Restaurant's upbeat environment plays host to a cavalcade of fresh-rolled specialty maki and traditional Japanese entrees. Visitors can sidle up to the sushi bar to watch chefs assemble Yakuza rolls, which are stocked with yellowtail, spicy tuna, and avocado before being crowned with barbecue eel. Hot dinners highlight chicken katsu, salmon teriyaki, and pan-fried yakisoba noodles tossed with the customer’s choice of meat.
