About Katella Grill
Every family has its secrets. Some have a member with a mysterious past. Others guard the location of a private family tomb, or a private candy store disguised as a family tomb. The Learakos family’s secret is barbecue: using a recipe handed down through generations, they’ve slow-roasted countless slabs of beef, pork, and steak. Though they won’t divulge their barbecue’s particulars, they’re more than happy to share its flavor at their restaurant, Katella Grill.
The Learakos family serves this smoky southern treat alongside dishes representing the spectrum of American cuisine developed over 80 years through four generations. He takes customers on a culinary road trip with California-style tilapia, southwestern chicken, Cajun meatloaf, and USDA Choice midwestern steaks. For a sweet finish to meals, staff prepare housemade pies and old-fashioned malted milk shakes complete with matching poodle skirts. They also pour locally roasted coffees, local craft beer and California wines.
Located less than two miles from Angel Stadium of Anaheim, patrons who show same-day ticket stubs receive a free menu item. Outside of supporting local baseball, the community-conscious restaurant has backed events such as Food Recovery efforts in Orange County, local school fundraisers, and hospitality education.
