Q:

Hi, I'd like to find out what kind of laser you are using? Is it the IPL we are talking about? Also I want to let you know that the company website is not your website....it's called "Cutting Edge Urology", is that your clinic name? I am interested to find out more, so visiting your website is important for me, thank you for your consideration.

Dear Value Client, In regards to your question to what kind of laser we use, yes indeed is IPL. We use the Harmony from Alma Laser and the Treatment Advantages are: -Removes most brown and red pigmentation -Improves dull complexions, large pores, red flushing skin and rosacea. -Gives skin a smoother, more eve-toned look -Litte or no discomfort -No Downtime Pre-reatment: Avoid unprotected natural and artificial sun exposure of the area to be treated for 2-4 weeks. Avoid chemical peels or laser hair removal for 2 weeks prior or until healed. Post Treatment: Avoid unprotected natural and artificial sun of the area between treatmentsand apply sunblock SPF 40-50 with UVA & UVB.Pigmented and vascular lesions will appear worse for approximately 3 days and then the areas should begin to fade over the 7-14 days. Makeup immediately following treatment is ok. Our spa is based out of a Urology Office. And our Kendall Laser Spa website is currently under construction. Q:

I'm African American and concerned about some hyperpigmentation on my skin. Are photofacials okay for my skin and will it help with my hyperpigmentation?

Chelsea G.  asked on  Aug 22, 2012

A:

We offer free consultation for clients with your condition. It is best that you come for a consultation prior to treatment to make sure you are an available candidate for our IPL. However, we do offer other alternatives and a variety of treatments for your skin type in case that photofacial won't benefit you.
