I would highly recommend Kentucky Dam Village to anyone who enjoys peacefulness and nature. Even though it was the middle of January and extremely cold, we enjoyed every second of our time there with our kids. My children are 8 & 3 and they loved it too. They enjoyed our walks and the great quality time we got to spend together. We loved it!

About Kentucky Dam Village

Just across the bay from the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, Kentucky Dam Village is a resort nestled within the splendor of a state park. Lodging opportunities of every stripe abound. The Village Inn Lodge is perhaps the most thoroughly appointed, with 72 cheerful guest rooms introduced by a nautically-themed lobby and a merman concierge. At the Harbor Lights Restaurant, located in the Inn's lower level, chefs prepare eclectic meals, making them with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Guests may dine there while contemplating their view of the last dam on the Tennessee River.

Outside the walls of man, the village's signature attraction is a campground comprised of 210 campsites. Not too far-flung from creature comforts, each one comes equipped with water and electricity hookups. A cluster of service buildings also offer modern amenities, including showers, restrooms, three dump stations, and a grocery store.

The 17,000-acre recreation area near the campground is a popular spot for bird watching as well as canoeing and bass fishing at its two lakes, Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. More than 200 miles of hiking trails crisscross the peninsula, ranging from short walks to lengthier routes. Many visitors choose to hike shorter portions of the 58-mile North-South Trail, which spans the entire length of the Land Between the Lakes. While hiking, numerous chances abound to catch a glimpse of local wildlife, including white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, foxes, and coyotes.
