Kentucky Opera was founded in 1952 and produces a triad of performances each season. The Elixir of Love, a light-hearted comedy set in a small 19th-century Italian village, tells the tale of a mirthful love triangle between the town tease, the strapping sergeant, the cuddly clod, and an escaped brown bear. The work features the music of 19th century Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti and the thrilling, pitch-leaping vocal performances of the four cast-members. The Elixir of Love is performed at the intimate and historic Brown Theatre, which has classic touches, luminescent luminaries, and a walk-in humidor.
Tickets are A-level only.
