In much of the world, soccer is known as "football" and the American president is referred to as "The Ameriking." Embrace cultural differences without using your hands with today's Groupon: for $90, you get a registration for a four-day Kick It USA youth soccer camp sponsored by South Shore Sports Center (a $160 value). Camps are scheduled twice a month in Hanson, Hingham, or Rockland, and run Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Drawing on college-level or professional experience, licensed coaches cultivate confidence, quick reflexes, and fleet feet in boys and girls ages 4–14 during Kick It USA's summer soccer camps. After warm-ups, instructors dedicate sessions to improving fundamental skills, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, or distracting the sweeper with choreographed dance routines. Each coach instructs a cleated crew of 10 ball hawks on average, ensuring mini kickers receive personal attention in classes designed for their age group and proficiency level. Weekly shenanigans such as Water Fight Day and the final event, World Cup Day, reward focused exertion with exuberant play. Campers are encouraged to wear shin guards and bring their own soccer balls, although, much like paying beard tax, neither is required.
South Shore Sports Center
South Shore Sports Center invites athletic enthusiasts to engage in such sports as soccer, basketball, and lacrosse within its massive sports and entertainment complex. Groups can rent one of the three fields for their ball-based diversions, each featuring all-purpose synthetic surfaces that make them ideal for lacrosse or soccer on the turf fields and basketball or uncomfortable napping on the hard courts. In conjunction with the recreational revelry, the center also hosts birthday parties, clinics, and summer camps geared toward athletic improvement.
