- $50 for a three-hour intro to pottery-wheel workshop ($100 value)
The workshop provides students with a quick introduction to wheel-thrown pottery. During the workshop, students can wedge, center, and pull up cylinder walls. Once pieces are dry, they will be bisque fired. Students can come in at a later date to paint up to two pieces.
Kiln & Co.
Free time and creative vision don't necessarily strike at the same time, which is why the team members at pottery-painting studio Kiln & Co. don't expect everyone who walks in the door to arrive with a fully formed idea. This is why they built Inspire Bar, an area with iPads, books, and magazines to encourage creative ideas. Those ideas are manifested in a number of ways, whether it's a brightly painted figurine for a child's bedroom or a sophisticated table setting with a built-in etch a sketch. In addition to open studio time, Kiln & Co. hosts kids' summer kamps and classes for adults that explore everything from simple pottery painting to nude sculpture.
