Dreamy and cool as a cucumber, Prom Queen is Celene Ramadan, a Seattle singer-songwriter who CityArts once called "equal parts I Dream of Jeannie and Nefertiti, with a dash of Brigitte Bardot." Commanding the stage with her smoldering eyes and smoky vocals, she fronts a four-piece band as they tear through original songs combining surf rock, lounge and '60s psychedelia. Prom Queen's killer retro style will pull you in, but it's the music you'll stick around for -- a timeless array of tunes that bridge the gap between vintage masters such as Roy Orbison and Nancy Sinatra, and modern pop stars such as Lana Del Rey.
