An exclusive Hawaiian excursion that is basically two fantastic tours in one! This four-hour Big Island snorkel adventure takes you out in our super safe Willard Navy Seals boats to swim with wild spinner dolphins. Experience their energy and curiosity toward humans as we play in their natural habitat. If you love animals, you won’t want to miss this incredible thing to do on the Big Island! Afterward, it’s time for a quiet and relaxing snorkel in the Kealakekua Bay, a marine reserve often called the best snorkeling spot in all Hawaii. It is only accessible by boat (or a very long hike), and it’s also the location of the Captain Cook monument. Swim with colorful fish, see the unique underwater rock formations, and enjoy the pristine, clear waters of this Big Island snorkeling destination. In season, we also look for other natural sea creatures such as whales and sea turtles.
Afternoon Kealakekua Bay Snorkel and Coastal Adventure
Do you want a great Kona Ocean Experience, but don’t have a lot of time? Maximize your visit with our exclusive express Big Island snorkeling tour. This two and a half hour adventure takes you out in one of our super safe Willard Navy Seals boats on a fabulous, educational sightseeing journey experienced by few and accessible only by boat. Bring your camera as photo opportunities may also include sightings of manta rays, turtles, and whales (humpbacks in December – April), and we may possibly even glimpse a Hawaiian monk seal on our afternoon snorkel tour along the Kona Coast! Then, you travel the coastline to look for dolphins, view blow holes, hover above the coral reefs, see colorful fish, and enter a sea cave or two. Enjoy snorkeling in the historical Kealakekua Bay, a marine reserve often called the best snorkeling spot in all Hawaii. It is only accessible by boat (or a very long hike). A place of underwater beauty, it’s also the location of the Captain Cook monument. This adventure allows you to learn some of the history and culture of this area.
Sunset Cruise and Night Manta Snorkel
Join us for our hour and a half evening boat trip out of Keauhou Harbor to enjoy the beautiful Kona coastline and sunset, as we await the mantas arrival. Learn some history and about the culture of the area and enjoy snacking from a fresh fruit and sushi platter as the sun fades behind the ocean. Then, as night falls, witness the majestic manta rays come to feed on the abundant buffet of phytoplankton that appears with the glow of underwater dive lights on this unforgettable snorkel tour on the Island of Hawaii. Slide into the alluring Pacific Ocean, buoyed by our light board and experience the thrill of having giant manta rays gracefully glide and swoop through the waters, all within inches of you. Back on board, complete your breathtaking experience with some warm green tea on the short ride back to the Keauhou pier.
Night Manta Snorkel
Join us for our one-hour evening boat trip out of Keauhou Harbor to snorkel with manta rays just off the Big Island. This quick nighttime snorkeling excursion is a must-do on Hawaii! Once we’ve reached our snorkel site, you slide into the Pacific Ocean and grab onto our light board. Not only is this for your stability in the water, but the underwater dive lights also attract the phytoplankton, or dinner for our manta rays. As we float, you watch the mantas gracefully glide and swoop through the waters, sometimes just inches from you, as they feed on their nightly buffet. Experience the thrill of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure of snorkeling at night with Hawaii’s manta rays! We’re in the water for about 45 minutes and then it’s just a short five-minute cruise back to the harbor.
